Klescher Rehabilitation Facilities is a private corrections provider operating the UEE's primary incarceration centers. Their flagship facility is located on Aberdeen, one of Hurston's moons in the Stanton system, built deep within the harsh, toxic environment of the moon's surface. Philosophy: Klescher markets itself as "committed to building secure sites that ensure their incarcerated guests safe housing with multiple work release opportunities." In practice, inmates work the mines of Aberdeen, extracting valuable minerals to "pay their debt to society" and reduce their sentences. The work conditions are grueling, with prisoners laboring in hazardous mining tunnels. Work Release Program: Inmates can reduce their sentences by mining and depositing materials at collection kiosks throughout the facility. The system is designed to keep prisoners productive while serving their time. Escape attempts are possible but dangerous, as Aberdeen's toxic atmosphere and remote location make survival outside the facility extremely challenging. Klescher facilities house criminals of all types, from petty thieves to hardened outlaws, creating a volatile social environment within the prison walls.
