UEE Navy

The United Empire of Earth Navy (UEEN) is the largest branch and public face of the UEE military. Headquartered at MacArthur in the Kilian system, the Navy is responsible for transportation of military resources, maintaining borders, and waging military strikes throughout the UEE. Service members are deployed in nearly every system of the empire. History: In the early days of humanity's expansion into space, the unified Navy primarily served as a police force, patrolling systems for damaged or broken down ships. Upon the discovery of the Banu, the government realized the Navy needed to be re-purposed as a military presence, and its fleet began to swell. The Navy is currently engaged in the ongoing Vanduul War, declared in 2945 after the Attack on Vega II. Organization: The Navy is organized into Fleets, Battle Groups, and Squadrons. Fleets are commanded by an Admiral (e.g., Admiral Ernst Bishop commanded the 2nd Fleet in 2945). Battle Groups are assigned to fleets, and Squadrons operate under Wing Commanders from assigned carriers. Officer Ranks (highest to lowest): Legatus Navium → Grand Admiral → Admiral → Vice Admiral → Rear Admiral → Commodore → Captain → Commander → Lt. Commander → Lieutenant → Lieutenant Junior Grade → Ensign Enlisted Ranks: Master Chief Petty Officer → Chief Petty Officer → Petty Officer → Jr. Petty Officer → Leading Starman → Starman → Starman Recruit Training: Recruit training takes place on MacArthur in the Kilian system. After a vigorous 8-month program covering physical fitness, military theory, and technology, recruits enter a 3-week Candidacy phase of physical, psychological, and intellectual tests. They may then be assigned to flight academy, research, or even the UEE Marines. Livery: The Navy uses a clear navy blue motif in service uniforms. Ships are commonly painted in standard grey. Squadron liveries vary — the 42nd Squadron uses black with red trim, while the 999th Test Squadron displays red and white with stars.
